An additional two individuals have been arrested in connection with a robbery at Heathrow Airport where 21 people sustained injuries by a substance believed to be an irritant spray, as stated by police.
A man, 24, was taken into custody in Lambeth for suspected theft and assault and a 23-year-old woman was arrested for suspected conspiring to commit a robbery. Both individuals remain in custody, the force said.
The arrests come after a probe into an attack at the multi-storey car park at Heathrow's Terminal 3 on Sunday. Prior to the incident, a pair of female travelers had stolen from them their luggage after getting out of a parking garage elevator.
A three-year-old girl was one of the those hurt during the incident. Five people went to hospital for treatment and have since been released.
Officers detained a man in his thirties for suspected theft and assault near the location. He has since been released under investigation while inquiries continue.
Authorities were called at about 8:10 in the morning GMT following reports of a number of individuals injured by an irritating chemical thought to be pepper spray.
The assault - an event that police said was isolated and not considered an act of terror - resulted in delays to rail services and the partial closure of the main airport tunnel and the Terminal 3 car park briefly.
